Default What our MEPs should do

I've been thinking over it, and I believe what our MEPs should to is to become a right pain in the **** for the EU.

I think that they should use every available opportunity to ask absurdly complex questions and make intolerably long speeches. Basically gum up the works; then voting for less EU power in every single decision that comes to pass.

They should also only take expenses for travel and accommodation. I don't really see why they would need secretaries in a parliament we don't recognise, but I don't know much about the Euro Parliament so I could be wrong on secretaries.

What does everyone else think?

Well this is rather what i've been saying for some time now

However they can NOT make long speeches as you should know, but I agree they should try and jam up the works and cause as much havoc as they can. Nothing illegal but a pain in the **** yes.

Yes of course they should look at their expenses and try and expose the corruption in the system but they would find this difficult when they are playing the expenses game themselves.

So as I've been saying we need a leader backed by the NEC would wants to get the MEPs to be completely above reproach and then start attacking the Lib/Lab/Con MEPs and EU for all its worth.

Trouble is Nigel likes things as they are and when Petrina tried to clean things up she was placed in an impossible position to continue as chairman due to the lack of support from the then leader and other MEPs:evil:

They might not be allowed to make long speeches, but they can make 10 (Or is it 9 now?) speeches!
More if you count the members of the IND-DEM group.

You haven't been saying this at all, you've been saying that
A) UKIP MEPs should stay at home
B) UKIP should be abandoned.

Why don't you use the oppurtunity (now) when you have actually put a positive point across and do something. Maybe you could start a petition to Farage: he is an honest bloke and I'm sure a few hundred signatures would get a reaction from him.

I'm sorry Tito but I have NOT being saying anything of the sort so please stop putting words in my mouth and making things up.

I've said repeatedly UKIP MEPs need to spend more time in the UK rather than Brussels and that I'm trying to strengthen UKIP not disband it.

So Tito we all know whose side you generally bat for but please DON'T make things up.

Tito is to be congratulated for starting to get the hang of what a number of members are saying ,including Roger Knapman ,who is clearly worried about our MEPs going down the road to going native.
Unfortunately nothing is perfect, Tito clearly believes Niall to be suffering from a need to attack for the sake of attacking when in fact he is just desperate for UKIP to clean its act up .

A good many of us can wholeheartedly agree with the content of Roger`s letter .It is just a pity that he has been seen opposing the suspension of Wise from the I&D Group when the evidence of the allegations which the Sunday Times has put forward seem ,on the face of it, so compelling. One would expect the normal course of suspension during an investigation
to go unopposed .

Let us hope that some good comes out of this argument over what we expect of our MEPs .It wouldn`t do them any harm to listen to the grassroots .

In that very post you said UKIP MEPs should spend more time in the UK, which is not what I said above.

You are not trying to strengthen UKIP, you directly suggested to me that I should stop campaigning and instead write newspapers about freemason infiltration of UKIP.

I bat for UKIPs side, who do you bat for?

No, I got it all along. It has always been your methods that I criticise.

Not only do I genuinely believe he is mad, I can't see why he is any better than those he criticises.

No, I believe Niall to be blinded by the sort of conspiracy he has taken to; if I were to tell him anything anti-EU he would believe it.
Niall, did you know the EU is actually just the illuminati's latest scheme?

I can agree with that.

Why don't you and Niall make the most of this NEC election, who should be voted in to remedy your problems and why?

We know at least one UKIP MEP who wouldn't dream of listening to the grass roots. He doesn't do listening. He p****s on them. As for the others, will the Party activists ever trust them again?

Surely that applies to all the UKIP MEPs. Even Graham Booth hasn't got the decency anymore to give a reply to an e-mail I sent him. UKIP MEPs treat us members with contempt.

It seems self evident that a poor leader infects his fellow commanders.

They forget that people did not elect them personally (if you stop anyone in the street and ask them if they know who their MEP is, they haven't a clue), the people voted for the Party. UKIP

They have not kept their side of the bargain, they have not contributed as much as they should have to the Party funds, (and NF hasn't given a penny).

If they are serious about getting the UK out of the EU, they should be spending most of their time here in the UK and going round the country telling people what is happening. 95% of the people do not have a clue.
