Use of the word ''fascist'' and ''fascism'' is frequently used as a term of ignorant abuse, and often by those of the socialist persuasion. Its use tells me that the user is ignorant of what the term actually implies - the corporate state, whereas I believe in private enterprise - and also that there is no logical argument to refute my case.

As for your new choice of meal - well, what you propose breaches health and safety regulations, so I suggest you take it up with the appropriate EU commisioner before I can oblige.

Whichever of the two dishes you choose to eat won't affect me, so I wouldn't give a toss. But smoking is different because it does affect me if I have no choice but to breathe the fumes in. This is where your freedom to smoke comes at the expense of other people's liberty and is why I regard freedom from nicotine smoke and addiction as libertarian and not totalitarian.

To take an extreme example - would you permit a psychopath the legal right to kill another human being on the grounds that the psycho enjoys it and therefore should be his freedom to kill? No - because the act of murder curtails the victims right of freedom, the right to life. It is, as Milton Friedman observes in his book ''Capitalism and Freedom'', that my freedom to move my fist is limited by the proximity of your jaw, namely that I can do as I please providing it does restrict anybody else's right to do as they please. It is about respecting the rights of other people first, not second, as you propose.

And coming into my house uninvited is a violation of my property rights - and the UKIP policy on that I fully support.
