Baronet Sir Dai Llewellyn of Roddy Llewellyn/Princess Margaret fame today declared for Cardiff North as UKIP candidate.



The Western Mail devoted the entire front page and the whole of page 4 on this development describing both Llewellyn and UKIPs stance in the election.

This is down to Nigel it seems. He seems to be putting in a fantastic effort speaking to non-UKIP groups around the country.

Sir Dai Llewelyn though, he doesnt live here, never has and never will. I think its more likely to put voters off than get them rallying im afraid.

Actually he has lived here as recently as 2003 up the valleys in Aberbeeg and was born and brought up in Aberdare but left claiming that Wales was becoming too insular and that he would never return until he died.


His uncle held the Cardiff North seat for for 9 years in the fifties for the Conservatives.


Apparently he is a larger than life colourful character who already has the press clamouring for interviews, and promises to hopefully provide the kick of publicity that we need.

Yes but he has never lived in Cardiff North. Most people over 40 will know who he is, but from what I have heard an ex playboy isnt very popular.

With respect Sean you seem to have missed the point. Like all small parties one of UKIP's biggest problem is that we are often ignored. Sir Dai is attracting huge publicity for UKIP which, If we take advantage of and get our message accross, gives us a chance of getting people elected from the regional lists.
