Having just talked to Steve over the phone he re-assures me he is standing in the elections as a ukip candidate.
Nikki you are totally wrong about this and should post an apology for trying to smear Steve's name. |

I agree Nikki`s posting is disgraceful .She tried to make Steve Povey out
to be a liar and unfit to sit on the NEC. She is well known to him and could easily have checked things out with him but chose not to . I`m glad she isn`t advising anyone important ! |

Perhaps we should all bear this Rule in mind...
4.5 Candidates and their supporters are reminded that campaigning activities should be conducted in a friendly and constructive manner, and that they remain at all times bound by the Party Constitution and rules. Any breaches may be referred to the Party's Discipline Committee and could result in disciplinary action. In the case of a serious breach, the Returning Officer may disqualify a Candidate from the election. A Candidate disqualified in this way may appeal to the Discipline Committee. Any such appeal must be lodged in full within one month of the date of disqualification. |

Looking through the candidate list I note that La Sinclair is supporting Jill Seymour .Her candidate is from the same neck of the woods as Steve Povey so it would be fortunate indeed if Povey was taken out of the race .
Funny old things NEC elections, they do seem to bring the worst out in people . |

I had Mike after me yesterday accusing me of "opening an unnecessary can of worms" I have explained to him that Mr Povey did not stand at election as a Councillor for UKIP but "ratepayers", nor has he since changed from his Ratepayers to UKIP and that the Council administrators were not aware at all of his UKIP "status" within the Council.
I note that Petrina says that he will stand for the Council in May as a "UKIP candidate" I am pleased to know this and have no alternative other than to trust her word. But the fact still remains that he is not a UKIP Councillor or Mayor at the present time and that is the point I originally made. I have shown you the council web site and given the contact at the council which is sufficient information for you to check. Can Petrina please name her contact within the Council administration department in order that this can be resolved? As for the other comments I have only pointed out this fact on this site and not elsewhere. I do not search for any trouble, just facts. Time will show the truth. Facts are facts and I have quoted cold facts. |

After Browsing through the Staffordshire Moorlands Council website (and taking the point that there needs to be more than one person to form a group) I have noticed that other councillors are defined as Independant or 'non alligned'.
I trust Mayor Povey will contact the relevant department of the council to correct its website (if it is indeed incorrect) I will be more than happy to apologise if I have made an error. |
