Ukip keeps its finances above board

Your coverage of the UK Independence Party suggests doubts about our finances (News, February 11). The reason why a large number of donations to Ukip were not reported is that they were under reportable limits. This shows how much of our funding comes from small donations from ordinary members and supporters - something we are proud of. You claim an "investigation" found that Mr Alan Bown donated over £1 million - but all his funding has been openly declared.

Finally, contrary to your assertion that our membership is falling, it has in the past few months been rising nicely.
