Default William Hague MP says Tories won't respond to UKIP threat

ITV 1 Teletext (analogue page 312, 11.2.2007 at 11.53 am) reports this morning that the Conservatives do not intend to respond to the UKIP "threat". "We will not tack to the right to see of the electoral threat of the UK Independence Party" former Conservative leader William Hague MP said.

He reiterated that the Conservative leadership "will not respond to voices inside the party who argue that the threat must be countered by a more robust line on immigration. We will not risk putting off voters by highlighting their policies at the exclusion of issues like health."

Let's Hope and Pray that the Tory establishment will pay heed to the Tories' biggest Loser since Austin Chamberlain.

Default Conservative vote down in February 2007

The Conservatives are down in today's poll in the Sunday Times.

Just as they were down in a local By-Election last Thursday at Nuneaton.

At this time with Labour so unpopular as it approaches a decade in power, the Cameron-led Conservatives should be doing better.

William Hague has said
Quote:
"will not respond to voices inside the party who argue that the threat must be countered by a more robust line on immigration. We will not risk putting off voters by highlighting their policies at the exclusion of issues like health."
Then who the hell else is going to talk about one of the publics major concerns, immigration ?

So what Sir William Squitt (Private Eye's old nickname for Hague ) is saying is that the Tories are preparing to abandon even more of their voters and their concerns. In a thoroughly unscientific poll of a few of my mates immigration seems to be the single most hackle raising issue out there.

It looks like Sir William Squitt has become infected with the same PC virus as his lord and master !

Cameron has done his win/lose % sums. He wants the Lib Dem/Blairite vote and reckons he can afford to stick 2 fingers up to at traditional Tory voters who mumble about voting UKIP. & its going to get worse & real Tories in the Tory party will be increasingly humiliated by Cameronyism .'m sorry for the latter all abandoned after such loyalty but only up to a point. We had a Tory councillor thinking of defecting, but he didnt, confessing that his social life revolved round the Tory club life and at the crunch it was more important than his principles .

I've heard this argument time and time again. Those who stay Tory may have old friends to talk too, but under Cameron, will they enjoy what they're talking about

Hague said that voters want to hear about "child-care" and "the environment" instead of "Europe". As though addressing one makes the other a non-issue!
