Default Former Tory candidate wants answers on UKIP and Mr. Mote

Mr. Iain Dale, a Conservative candidate at the last General Election who is eurosceptic but does not think much of UKIP wants some answers about UKIP and Mr. Ashley Mote (the anti-EU MEP who was elected to Brussels as a UKIP candidate but who now sits as an independent within the new 'Identity, Tradition and Sovereignty' grouping in the EU 'Parliament').

On his blog - read by many Conservatives and by elements of the press - Mr. Dale wrote (in the section dated 8.2.2007 in an article titled 'A Question for UKIP' ):

Actually UKIP branches obtain analysis/leaflets on EU from Ashley Motte's office because the UKIP MEP system does not sem to be set up to serve branches in this way.

Digresing slightly, but while his past indiscretions and joining of that new group with Le Pen etc cannot be condoned, does anyone else feel that most of the time he's bang on the money with his views and letters etc to the papers. He's been quoted several times recently in the Telegraph on matters that ought to have attracted reaction from other eurosceptic MEPs

Dale may want some answers.

But since he is a Tory, UKIP and Ashley Mote are under no obligation to dance to Dale's tune.

Default Mr. Iain Dale is no fan of UKIP

I'm afraid that from what I've read Mr. Iain Dale is no fan of UKIP. He has, however, given airtime to UKIP leader Mr. Farage on '18 Doughty Street' - the political television channel available over the internet.

If after legal immunity ends (presumably in 2 years) he gets prosecuted and found guilty then many will feel thoroughly let down by him.

This is his entry:
Quote:
A few weeks ago I WROTE about Ashley Mote MEP joining the pseudo-fascist grouping of Euro MPs, having originally been elected under the UKIP banner. UKIP members denied any association with him. Indeed, UKIPHOME had a rant against me (a not unusual occurrence) and stated the following...

Mote has not been connected to UKIP as an elected official or party member for over two years.

Well, factually that may be correct, but what are we to make of Ashley Mote's letter to a Hampshire newspaper this week in which he states...

I am enjoying good working relations with many UKIP branches across the
region and have every intention of continuing to work with them whenever the opportunity arises...

So which is it? Are there working relations between UKIP and Ashley Mote or not?
I think that UKIP has officially ended relations with Mr Mote, but individual constituency associations do invite him to talk occasionally and I presume that his research and job must bring him into contact with UKIPpers.
