An Inconvenient Truth:
Labour Propaganda breaks Education Law
"The decision by Alan Johnson, the Education Secretary and David Milliband the Environment Secretary to post copies of Al Gore's controversial film, 'An Inconvenient truth' will be in breach of the law", claimed David Campbell Bannerman, UK Independence Deputy Leader today.
"This is political propaganda at it's worst", he said. "The climate change argument is ongoing and for the government to sponsor one side of the debate is a disgrace".
The Education act of 1996 forbids 'the promotion of partisan political views'. This film is obviously partisan.
"This government is so washed up, so mired in its own mendacity and incompetence that it thinks that it can gain credit for pushing the film, now that Mr Gore has been nominated for the Nobel Peace prize and the film is up for an Oscar", he continued. "The fact that if they get their way the entire country will be taxed out of their holidays, cars and lives to forward an agenda based on unproven science just makes it worse.
Well it won't wash. An illegal act, as this government is slowly discovering is an illegal act even if it is committed by the Government of the day.
Notes to editors
5,628 secondary schools in England alone The film costs £13 a time and together with postage this scheme will cost £80,000 at least.
