Default GMTV Sunday

GMTV on Sunday normally begins at 6 am on ITV 1.

The interviews on it are recorded earlier in the week (usually).

GMTV finishes on ITV 1 on a Sunday morning at about 7.20 am.

It is then repeated in full on ITV 2 as soon as it finishes on ITV 1.

This week's Sunday GMTV (14.1.2007) had a good range of interviews with direct questions asked to all who appeared on it. Unlike Marr on BBC 1's 'Sunday AM' later the same morning in which many said that David Cameron was not pressed hard (by presenter Andrew Marr) on his pro-EU and anti-UKIP views).

Default Nigel on GMTV on Sunday

Excellent in my opinion.
I doubt any viewer would believe UKIP to be a single issue party or just a pressure group after this.
A great deal was covered in a short interview but it all came over clearly.
Wanting trade, co-operation and friendship with the EU but not laws made in Brussels. Not anti European but anti EU.
Steady build up in UKIP support.
Targeting all three indistinguishable parties not just the Conservatives.
UKIP vote from across the spectrum.
Raised the racism issue and dealt well with it
Also infiltration and local branch difficulties, mentioning that other organisations such as the RSPCA, the Countryside Alliance and the Conservativs have had similar problems but that a relatively small organisation like UKIP finds it earier to discover them.
Too little attention in past on local elections. Learn from the Libdems. Mention of the Welsh Assembly elections and indeed elections across the board.
These matters include perceived shortcomings in the UKIP leadership's strategy discussed on this Forum for many months and which really seem now to be being addressed.
An impressive interview with no tendency to avoid issues.

Default Interview with Mr. Farage on GMTV 21.1.2007

I posted a full report about Mr. Farage's interview this morning on GMTV (before the last posting in this thread) in another thread in this section called "Nigel Farage on GMTV on 21.1.2007". If readers want the text of the interview, please go to that thread. 8)

I agree with hopeful applicant. He came over well and and answered the questions properly and without too much fudging. Important for him to have emphasised that we are not just attacking the Tories but want support from across the spectrum.

Did not see the Sky one, is it online anywhere? I agree Nigel was superb as usual, delighted that he did not use the 'Cigarette paper' line again.
