Default UKIP membership now 17,000

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...olitics127.xml

Quote:
Conservative membership has stalled during most of 2006 and may even have fallen over the last nine months, party insiders said yesterday.

Although David Cameron saw 15,000 new members in the first weeks of his leadership, the momentum has not been maintained.

While he has attracted new members, particularly younger people and women, by projecting a softer, "caring" image, some traditional Tories have left, with prominent defections to the UK Independence Party (Ukip). Party sources said it was possible that overall membership had dropped below the 290,000 level calculated last January.

Ukip said last night its membership had risen from 16,000 to 17,000 since September, mainly due to disaffected Tories jumping ship.
If this carries on, then it looks good for UKIP in the 2009/2010 elections.

We only need another 12,000 members to get back to our membership figures in 2005!

Default UKIP mebership over 17,000

UKIP's best five regions all got nearly the same overall result. In the East we polled almost three times as many votes as in 2001. On average we polled 1600 votes in each of the 52 Constituencies where we stood. The best result was seven and a half percent. According to the opinion polls taken recently, we could double our 2005 result next time.

It's only a modest increase but it is a start. If we can maintain the momentum of the last few months we will hopely see a steady increase in membership.

To increase the membership in a period of low electoral activity and whilst the LIBLABCONS are shedding bucketloads is significant.

Default Europhile parties losing members

It seems that, at this point in time, UKIP may be the only political party to have actually increased its membership recently. 8)

The number of members lost by other (mostly europhile) parties is dramatic.

Labour are down to 188, 000 from 408, 000 in May 1997.

The europhile Liberal Dims are down to 76, 000 (or less) from 100, 000.

In this issue BNP chairman Nick Griffin appeals to the rank and file membership of the United Kingdom Independence Party to join the BNP's local council election effort.

"As many councils as possible need to have a BNP councillor to alert the public when anti-British policies are being pushed through by councillors from the three main parties," he explains.

"In the run-up to these elections we need all the help we can get and that is why I'm asking UKIP members and supporters to come and join us and help us in our great electoral push on behalf of the British people."
How many of that 17000 will run a mile when they find out about all the connections with the BNP, not the first time the BNP and UKIP have "supposedly" shaken hands is it

NG of the BNP is claiming a 30% increase this year.

My little band is up 10%, so don't jump to conclusions.

"Only" is such dangerous word.
It can come back to bite you.

And again, where is UKIP's Financial Submission to the Electoral Commission? Almost a year overdue!
If UKIP can't keep it's Books up to date; why should the rest of us believe any claim?

Quite obviously the bnp are very short of members and money as well as Candidates.

Their idea to damage genuine political parties by their false association with them is an obvious last gasp cry.

Not long now before they have to climb back into the toilets and sewers from which they were spawned by interbred loonies.

Still,we should have a bit of pity for them this time of year I suppose, after all, they are desparate these days.
