Stand for NEC on a "members mouthpiece representative" ticket so the gentlemen's club knows whats going on in the real world.

The trouble, Prober, with representing members on the NEC is that it is the tail being wagged by the dog. Look at the appaling list of talented, dedicated people that sought to represent us and got frustrated and left: Anthony Schofield, Linda Guest, Julia Chant, Anthony Butcher. Richard Suchorewsky, Petrina Holdsworth...and that is just who I can remember off hand and in the last two years as well. The cash comes from the EU the MEPs are the tail wagging the dog and the most ominous thing I heard at Conference was our new leader announcing that he did not feel it necessary to report everything the MEPs get up to to the NEC. In view of Tom Wise and his creative accounting methods with Lindsey Jenskins' money, Roger Knapman's delight in getting Polish builders for his West Country Pile -so much better than British ones you know - and Nigel's current attitude to the Tories we need more accountability not less.
