UKIP never ceases to amaze me.
Upon visiting my grandmother, I discovered she had received some literature from UKIP in a plain white envelope, which she showed me. It contains one leaflet that cites David Rowlands as Chairman of UKIP Wales. This has not been the case for around 18 months, and although he did fill in for a brief period following Richard’s departure, this has not been the case for over a month now! Then there was a cut- off slip for recipients to fill in, addressed to Richard Suchorzewski, who as most of you will know quit the party months ago! Finally, it includes a leftover leaflet from the general election campaign, with another cut off slip to be sent to the address of the late Don Hulston, which can only cause upset to his widow as she faces her first Christmas without him. So, that’s 2 Chairmen, 2 different addresses, and the REAL Chairman doesn’t even get a mention anywhere! Another UKIP administrative disaster! This didn’t even fool my 81 year old grandmother! Okay, no members in Wales should answer this, but can anyone outside Wales name me the Chairman of UKIP Wales without cheating? |

Marcus - let it go will you. You walked out on UKIP Wales so if we're in a mess (as you perceive) it's because of people like you who are not willing to put in any effort.
You were a member of UKIP Wales when we launched this letter campaign but I seem to remember very little input or help from you. Richard Suchorzewski was Chairman at the time and we had something like 50,000 slips printed with his name on. Would it have been prudent to scrap those and get them reprinted. I think not. Like all those on here that have graced us with 'War and Peace' style resignation letters you seem to be more interested in what UKIP are doing now than when you were a member. |

Suppose it hadn't been Marcus who posted that story. These attacks on people just because they are ex-members really don't do anyone any favours, especially UKIP. Obviously I have a vested interest here
Seriously though, just because it is Marcus doesn't make the ****-up any less of a ****-up. |

I'm not sure what could have been done in this instance.
As long as the right addresses were on the slips, I think that it would have been waste of time, money and effort redoing or re-correcting all the slips. Sometime you get dumped in situations. There are many things you can knock UKIP for, this seems to be pretty insignificant.

In answer to the criticisms that have been thrown my way:
I did not contribute much to the initial discussions regarding this campaign because, on principle, I believed it to be a fundamentally good idea and had no objections. Posting blank envelopes with UKIP literature inside is an original and good idea, and one I certainly supported. However, I most certainly WOULD have intervened had I known that the literature would contain TWO different names for UKIP Wales Chairman, neither of whom is actually the current Chairman, and one of whom is not even in the party any more. I would also have intervened had I known that there would be two cut- off slips, ONE of which was addressed to the former Chairman who had left the party months earlier, the other would have been sent to the widow of the former Membership Secretary who has been dead for nearly a year. This has been a crass blunder- 2 different chairmen, 2 different addresses and the real chairman doesn’t even get a mention! Don’t start all this rubbish about not wanting to waste leaflets. They contain out of date information and send out a contradictory and disorganised message to the receiver, who will get the impression (quite rightly) that UKIP is a disorganised mess, as was my elderly grandmother’s reaction. And what about the UKIP Wales website? Their so- called “news” section has not been updated at all since 20th September, and the profile of the interim Chairman is still on the front page, nearly 2 months after the new full- time Chairman was elected- evidently no one outside Wales has a clue who he is! Is it any wonder UKIP are considered such a laughing stock if they can’t even get the basics like this right. Those of you still inside the party are being taken for a ride. |

I find this totally hilarious.....when our entire country is going down the pan people like "realwales" have nothing better to do than complain about a name on a reply slip. It would also amaze me if anyone other than a highly committed activist or a bitter and twisted ex-ukiper looking for someone to blame (or his granny) would even know who the Chairman of UKIPWales is (or was) I know I don't!
Sending replies to a dead person is I agree a mistake and I hope someone at UKIPWales has contacted the widow with a huge bunch of flowers and an apology. Also for about £20 you can put a mail divert onto a name and address so that the offending letters are re-directed elsewhere. This is just another pathetic example of someone who didn’t get their own way and are now sitting on the sidelines shouting abuse at the players still in the game. I don't agree with everything UKIP says or does but its a damn sight better than anything the LIB/LAB/CON come up with. UKIP suffers from an excess of people who know they are right and everyone else is wrong, we also have more than our fair share of self important "don't you know who I am" I suggesdt RealWales gets lost. UKIP has enough people who "know" what needs to be done but a real shortage of people who actually do anything apart from complain and whine about it. After all the discusion and argument UKIP needs someone to make a decison and the rest of us need to put our personnal feelings to one side and get on with it. In any team there is one manager and one captain, they decide the game plan and tactics, the players then need to put their best efforts into implementing these decisions. How far would a football team get with 11 Centre Forwards? You might think your best position is Centre Forward but if you're told to play left back than that's where you need to play. If you go on the field and try to be Centre Forward don't be surprised if your substituted.....and don't complain how unfair it is..... |
