I would agree with that.

There's a tipping point when strongly eurosceptic and anti-EU people in the Conservative Party will have had enough (of the Cameron pro-EU 'liberalisation' 'project').

The same applies to the non-voting (mostly anti-EU or strongly eurosceptic) millions. A professionally managed and well-presented UKIP may enthuse them to break a habit of boycotting polling stations and actually going out to vote for something (UKIP) that looks as if it might represent what they believe and be run by people like them.

As a first step, UKIP probably needs to build up and make some breakthroughs in local elections first.

It's an incredibly long thread on UKIP over at Conservative Home (to which you refer).

Perhaps they closed it for fear of it becoming the longest discussion on their comments board so far.

Every time UKIP is discussed at Conservative Home it results in some of the longest threads.

There is no doubt that UKIP is not irrelevant to Conservatives as the europhile impostors (i.e. fake Tories) in the Conservative Party claim.

To a large part of the Conservative (Tory) membership and to a large part of the British public - what UKIP says on the EU and other issues sounds more sensible and agreeable that the nonsense coming from the 'Tory' left (and from Blair and the pro-EU Liberal Dims).

He appears to have been /outed/ and is using the name /Tory Loyalist/ as a sock puppet.

Thus making UKIP look stupid and himself a laughing stock!
