Strange that that while peripheral issues like fishing are listed, the major need for policy paper on " Local Government" is missed out , despite Nigel saying local elections are a high priority in 2007 and people on this forum get heated about regionalisation. It is a bit strange that " Housing & Planning " is listed in isolation when it is essential to dove tail this to match (& vice versa) a wider credible local government power delegation policy..... an area UKIP has always been very weak on.

So is this a "left hand right hand " ommission or a gradual quiet down grad of the need for UKIP branches to bother with local elections ?

I guess this falls under "How we are Governed". But i would have thought it a topic worth of a separate group considering the complexity of local government.

Nothing is missed out,the opening paragraph of UKIPs statement on these groups says.....These groups will assist the Party to BROADEN AND DEVELOP A FULL RANGE OF POLICIES FOR FUTURE ELECTION MANIFESTOS.

In short, the list is not yet complete and will be changing as needed during times ahead.

It was poorly advertised and promoted by the party and the response was poor, because no one believed anything would be adopted from it.

This might be different, who knows.

We had everything set up last time and enough people to do maybe one or two topics... but we never had a single request for any research from Roger or Nigel so it was just dropped.

Perhaps if DCB is running it, then he has a direct line to the top so it has more chance of being used.
