If my branch is anything to go by only a tiny proportion of the members are in any way active - so really it's just as well the NEC just gets on with it. It may not be ideal, but it's realistic.

"Re your second sentence, in conversation with an independant journalist friend of mine, he has no doubt that the media already have all the
ammo they need.
When they decide to open fire is any-body's guess,"

They have the dirt on all leaders, the rocking horse pics, the rehab records ,pink adventures etc etc but real dirt is only used if the press are crossed.

What are pink adventures?Think gay play.
I'd rather not go there ,but when Blair threatened Cameron with a big fisting this fitted the bill. Some straight kinda guys may not be all they are crack(ed)up to be.

This is why Roger`s complaint to the Press Complaints Board was so unwise .It would seem from that the PCB found nothing wrong with the reporting -the reporters were simply doing their job and reporting the exchanges which they had with Roger re the benefits of employing Polish workers .

Elephants never forget nor do journalists .

It was silly of Roger to go the the PCB as he was caught out really. The media have a saprophytic relationship with the Lib-Lab-Con and are generally under instruction not to give publicity to UKIP, but it is a mistake to actively annoy them. Ask Robert Kilroy Silk...

For what it is worth, I think that not standing against BOO MPs (all 10 or so of them) is a good idea: a properly EUsceptic idea.

It also frees up funds to put into the campaigns in other constituencies. If I were NF, I would have said that we probably wouldn't stand against BOO candidates either, for much the same reason.

I don't think that this next GE is UKIP's big chance. Letting the Tories win and them showing the electorate that they are simply the same as Blair and Co. will open up the election after that for UKIP.

Except, of course, we are under a time constraint and that deadline is set by the ever-increasing integration programme of the EU...
