Yes the publicity must be welcome. However I would question the motives for the BBC revealing this. No doubt any MP or councillor defecting would be good news for UKIP, it should also be seen as a less than subtle attempt by New Labour and their BBC cronies to undermine the Tories and keep Bliar and his rabble in power.

Seriously good article for UKIP. The media coverage has been building of late and this article has so many nuggets of good info.
Sounds like it is going to be full steam ahead for the independence party, which many have been calling for. What will the new emblem be though?

I find it all strange. farage rants on about 'the cause', then decides that crossing the floor is against his principles. I would have thought that being in parliament as an MP he would be more likely to make progress for the cause and influence other parties - including the tories - from within.

It would destroy him. His credibilty would be in tatters and at that point the Tories would laugh in his face and dispose of him.
He did the right thing.

I think Nigel likes being a medium fish in a little pond for now anyway. Sure he would like to be a big fish, in a big pond, but he would have been supressed in the Tories if he had gone over now.
When the Tories split after getting hammered in the election again, then he may decide to join the good bit and try and get everyone else to too.
