The only way the Tories will ever be influenced by others into doing the right thing is if their party is on the point of oblivion. It is only when they are losing large numbers of votes to UKIP, the BNP, abstention ect that they will seriously consider changing their policies and even then, because they are fully paid-up members of the Political Establishment I doubt whether they would.

If (once) state funding becomes available to the main three parties there will be even less reason for them to be influenced by their members.

If state funding also acts as a discouragement/disincentive to voters as well then less members + reducing numbers of voter participation = bad news for democracy in the UK. Then the LibLabCon really can carve it all up.

Let's be cheerful: it is a rare good bit of publicity for us: whatever really went on. I am against altering logos and names though. Those that fret over such details are usually in decline. Succesful brands do not bother to change their image: eg Ford, Boots Mac Donalds. the purple and yellow and UKIP name are - at last - familiar on the doorstep, and it has taken years of struggle to get that way. Let's not throw it away. We need it to be the familiar symbol on the ballot papers next May

Do you not read the papers then, Quentin? Or watch the news?

Or maybe you just said that because you used to work in the press office and have a chip on your shoulder?

The pound logo has to go -- every single commenter at The Kitchen has said this.

Reactions to the name vary (the majority think, though, that it could be changed).

Perhaps we should hold a competition for suggestions for a new logo? I have been racking my brains recently and I can't think of an appropriately strong symbol without bad connotations...

The Torch has become vacant, but then the NF use that and it's a secret symbol of the illuminati.

Maybe Big ben, or the houses of parliament in a simple form, to signify self determination and democracy.

You'd have to be a bunch of ***** to hijack a national flag as your own symbol. I can't think of any party that would be so arrogant to do that.

In anycase, UKIP want to represent the whole of the UK, until the EU get;s its way and divides us up. If they succeed in that goal, UKIP will have to for seprate units, for each of the new broken parts.
