I note UKIP is taking a sceptical view of global warming. While I welcome the party not taking the "tax 'em off the road" consensus, and a more cautious approach to their scaremongering, what actually is ukip policy?
For example I do not want to vote for a party happy to see ever more pollution, supports new nuclear power and is in favour of ever more road building, house building etc. Nor do I want to elect a party that wants to tax us to death just for using our cars, going on holiday etc. |

During the last GE I met a young woman, well educated, well spoken and articulate, whilst I was canvassing in Devon. She was against the UK membership of the EU, agreed with everything regarding other UKIP policies and the final killer question she had was would UKIP be against fox hunting? On that one issue alone, UKIP policy by local county determination was not sufficient, she would not support UKIP. If any-one seriously thinks that they can find any political party with which they can totally agree with everything, apart from forming their own party, good luck - 'cos it doesn't exist. ModernTory What's wrong with nuclear power? Potentially a lot. However without a proven viable alternative as to realiability to meet consumption it, along with clean burn coal fired stations, is the best we've got. Use less electricity, at least that's a positive start. That is, I agree with the inference of your question  |

When someone goes on about the safety of Nuclear Power Stations,I quietly ask them ,when was the last time they had a serious accident.
Fifty odd years on and the influence of people demonstrating against NPSs is still around. There is no threat or danger from NPSs,we have to have them,at least 30 at the rate we waste energy at the moment. |

Done very well out of it.
Self sufficient and get to hold the rod over others. Nuclear should be part of the solution, if not all of it.

This is why UKIP needs a well thought out coherant policy.
Its no good spouting global warming is a fairy tale just to grab some headlines if we have no substance to our own environmental policy. |
