I understand that Nigel's father advised him not to stand for the leadership, because he carries a lot of baggage.

If there is somewhere else, I would be interested in applying for a job too - but I really don't think there is.

There is lots going on behind the scenes for those who are not blinded by the UKIP story.

As the original letter on this thread points out, with that comes an enormous responsibility. UKIP are the ambassadors of EU withdrawal. If they screw up, they screw up our chances
If the people who are leaving recognise this, why are they not staying in UKIP & argueing for change?

How can leaving help the anti - EU cause in any way?

Not more pressure groups, mini political parties !

May as well stay in UKIP, work at it and wait for a Labour/ Liberal 'Social Democrats' moment within the Conservatives. The way Cameron is going it becomes more likely.

A realignment of eurorealist (NOT eurosceptic) MP's of all parties bringing in Ulster Unionists would help considerably in getting it through to the elecorate - not forgetting the media. Giving immediate representation in Westminster. One can but hope.

In the meantime there remains only UKIP, BNP not being an option for me. Neither are more splinter groups.

Dear Marcus,

Why, exactly, did you post the letter here? What was the point? And when did it ever become accepted policy to post private correspondance on a public forum?

I will deal further with your letter when I have finished watching this paint drying, but since I believe that you will have heard from the party solicitor -- on the question of at least one count of libel -- by now, I guess that you may already be regretting your rather foolish and solipsistic exhibition of petulance.

Frankly, if NF is driving people like you away from the party, I am increasingly starting to believe that this is a good thing.

When will you people GROW UP? I mean, how old are you -- 13? Get a grip; is this a political party or a damn playgroup?

DK

Reading the two resignation letters that have appeared on this forum, it is because it isn't simply a case of the party going in a slightly different direction than desired. It doesn't appear to me to even be a case of sour grapes over the leadership issue - another convenient excuse for dismissing peoples' unhappiness.

If UKIP is a negative influence on the cause, as I've already said. Surely, even if you disagree that it is, you can understand that.

From the side lines, it does appear as if NF does have a problem dealing with capable people who, honestly, hold alternative views to himself. They should not have to leave, there have been too many taking this route and it really does set the party back considerably - this at a time when we should be moving forward.

Unless someone can think of an alternative, perhaps, as has previously been suggested, the solution is some kind of counsellor who resolves these disputes before they get this dire.
