I got a little bit of encouragement from reading today's Sunday Telegraph magazine interview with Jules Holland.
Apparently he is now a deputy lieutenant for Kent. Explaining this in a semi-jocular manner says: "I also keep an eye on our coastal borders, in case there is an invasion. There was a report recently that the Germans were planning to include Kent as part of France in a new map of Europe, and that is exactly the sort of thing I like to keep an eye one." |

I think Jules Holland declared himself to be anti-euro in 2003 (when the EU Constitution was a mainstream issue - as it will be again).
I'm also pretty sure Jules Holland is a Patron of the British Weights and Measures Association (i.e. the pro-Imperial and anti-Metric measurements organisation). |

I see he has put his name to this letter from the BWMA to Blair (along with other patriotic celebs):
http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/cgi/news/release?id=168918 [Incidentally, this letter does, for me, support the view that pressure groups of this sort have achieved rather little and point up just how important UKIP is as a political party seeking to win elections.] |

If anyone can get such people on board Nigel can.
If he can't, I doubt if it's for want of trying. (Of course, Patrick Moore is a Ukipper, and some others have a long history within and on the margins of the Tory party.) |

Mr Holland is an Honorary Member. As a point of information. The BWMA seeks parity in law between Imperial Measures and Metric Measures. The BWMA is not anti Metric as such. [Eg. BWMA is not campaigning to have car engine sizes quoted in cubic inches.] The Association opposes enforced metrication. |

Just wait and see what BWMA are going to achieve. UKIP is a political party that hasn't achieved a thing to forestall the EU to date. It won't win an Election in a million years, either. |
