Default Donations to UKIP

This is fascinating. It shows all the donations to UKIP since 2001.

http://www.electoralcommission.org.u...A06%3A15%27%7D

It shows the amounts that the MEPs have put in. There are some very generous donors on this list. One name is missing

Democracy Movement (Kingston Branch) £2,000.00

This has been a running sore with the DM for some time as they do not give donations to Parties. In fact, they tried to get it back from John Moran who was Chairman of the Kingston Branch at the time.

The money was collected by Christina Speight for the DM, and she was not best pleased to discover JM had handed it over to UKIP. She is still hopping mad about it.

NF even took out a libel action against her, which failed.

I think it should be given back to the DM if they still want it and claim it.

That seems to be the honest thing to do.

Of course.
UKIP could always hand the money back to the Democracy Movement!
Have they?

Although there is the point that until UKIP lodges its Annual Accounts with the Electoral Commission, we do not know how any of these donations are being spent.

This matter was raised by a lady sitting at the front of the hall at the 2006 Conference on Sunday 8th as part of her objection to one of the proposals for membership of the Disciplinary Committee.

A vote of confidence in the member being proposed was taken and the vote was given in favour to proceed.

That was what happened.
