Default Columnist may vote UKIP in protest at pro-EU Etonian Tories

Mary Kenny, the leading Roman Catholic columnist, wrote in the Daily Telegraph edition of 13.10.2006 “I hate the way in which hype replaces substance and the shallow artifice of PR now substitutes for political philosophy. I am so annoyed by the Old Etonians of the new Tory (Conservative) Party – it’s obvious that they have never run a whelk stall – that I’m considering voting UKIP, just to disoblige them.” *

* David Cameron, the pro-EU and anti-UKIP leader of the Conservative Party, was educated at Eton as were nearly all of his inner circle.

President Blair went to Eton as well. Typical labour type.

I think you're wrong. agreed Blair went to a public school but I don't think it was Eton! Someone on the forum will put us both right on this one!

Just having the name on the C.V. and the contacts made is all he needed.

Interestingly, now that they're rebooting Bond for Casino Royale, his Fettes dates now roughly match Blairs... Something for his retirement, perhaps? Janet Brown and John Wells did Maggie and Dennis once...

Although "Fetters" was a mistake, for the majority of free thinkers in Britain it was bloody apt in respect of Blair.
