Default Can UKIP get behind this?

For me, this presses all the right publicity buttons:-

School fighting to save farmland

Proposals to sell off land which forms a farm belonging to a Kent school have been met with dismay by the head teacher and pupils.
Cows, ducks and sheep are among the animals which could be lost from North School, in Ashford, if the land is used for a housing development.

Many of the students spend at least a few minutes every day learning how to take care of them.

Kent County Council has said a deal was reached with the previous head teacher. However, it said nothing would be done until an official from the council had visited the site.

New head teacher Lesley Ellis said she wanted to ensure the farm would remain for the enjoyment of generations to come. She has said she wants to turn it into a Vocational Centre of Excellence for Land Based Studies with access for the whole community.

"Once this land is sold it's sold forever and as far as I'm concerned this is our legacy for the future.

"The decisions we make now will impact upon future generations 100 years from now," she said.

The school has been so successful that its animals won 30 medals at this year's Kent County Show.

About 340 pupils from years seven and eight use the farm for life science classes, while the remainder of pupils have access to it for a range of other lessons.

Some parents have specifically chosen to bring their children to the school because of the farm.

One pupil said: "It is part of our community - we've all learnt from it."

Default Kent CC

This report mentions Kent County Council (Kent CC). Isn't Kent CC led by Sir Sandy Lockhart, a pro-EU Conservative? Didn't Kent CC - under his leadership - open up an EU office in Brussels? Or am I wrong?

Default Kent CC Brussels office - cost of

Thank you for that interesting link Basildon Boy. Do I contact the office in Brussels direct - or do I write first to the Chief Executive at Kent CC (or whoever else at the top of Kent CC answers enquiries of this sort)?

Write to Essex Councty Council. I find it useful to include this phrase:-

I can confirm that I am the person named above. Under provision of Section 8 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I ask XXXXXXXXXXXX to disclose the information I have requested below...

Most sites will have a link somewhere telling you how to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act. Be quick as this government is changing the rules so Councils can charge for obtaining the information!

You might be able to do it online!
