Default Legal action by UKIP

I understand UKIP is trying to close both this site and the www.searchukip.co.uk site. This would be very disappointing particularly as the latter does raise money for the Party , I use it for all searches.
This seems an example of the Party shoooting itself in the foot.

I have already shut down Search UKIP I am afraid. You can thank your glorious new leader for removing a revenue stream.

Why shut it down when the advice appeared to be they couldn't touch you?

Because it is a reasonable request from the Party Secretary. It was semi-official, as was the Resources site.

Shutting down the forum is completely different because it has never pretended to be official in any way.

There's a huge element of farce in all this: I've been told the SW RO has just put out a circular recommending Search UKIP as a fundraiser.

No, I'm not making it up.

You are quite right Simon. What are they thinking about. Anyway, what a stupid decision as it was one of the few fund raisers they have. I have used it a lot.

Anthony, watch they don't pinch your idea and make it their own!!! Perhaps you could send them a warning that you will sue if they do. Give them a taste of their own medicine.

They should have done it a long time ago, on a partywide basis. Then people could choose whether to use a local one, or the main party one.

Sadly it seems people with a bit of web savvy are not welcome in UKIP.

Why not rename the site UKIPhome as they seem to be immune?
