Excellent performance by young Farage.
Composed and relaxed and unlike other politicos sounded sincere and reassuring. He certainly has the right face for radio. We must have won over James Whale bigtime beforehand as he doesn't normally stand any nonsense but last night he was feeding all the right questions. Perhaps the media are starting to listen now that we are offering more than just the one issue. I thought that Nigel nearly lost it about half way through, when he's going down well he sometimes gets into self congratulatory mode but he pulled it back and three hours is a long time to keep on song. Like him or loathe him he's the best front man we've got by far and this has to be a major breakthrough for UKIP. Hopefully more invites will come our way from other broadcasters and then the media will not be able to ignore us. Mind you I was a little concerned when Nigel said that amongst our MEPs we had those who could fill the major cabinet offices - I do hope that didn't include Godfrey Bloom as Chancellor. Godders was kind enough to buy me a pint at conference but the thought of him in number 11 gives me nightmares. Well done all concerned. |

My immediate impression at conference was that Gerrard Batten would make an excellent Home Secretary, and Rachel Oxley would make a fantastic Education Secretary.
I thought Nigel did extremely well and i felt proud to be UKIP! Bloody good show Nigel. |

Nigel played it for all he could get and that most certainly got us some more members, supporters and voters. I just hope that Nigel can carry on doing this and making sure that UKIP are at the forefront of people's minds when they go to the ballot box.

I did not hear the broadcast. Am I right in believing that Talk Sport's main audience is the working class - a group UKIP has not courted before and the group where, I suspect, most of the 40% non voters belong to?

I think all sorts of people listen to it.
Quite a few of it's presenters seem to be anti-EU, but it's only of late that they have started making pro-UKIP noises. JW said he might run for mayor last night and Nigel put the offer on the table for him to run under the UKIP banner. I wonder if he followed that up or not? Someone should.

1. What are the audience figures for the James Whale Show? 2. What audience share is this of the total at that time of night? 3. What demographic listens to talksport/James Whale show? I understand that talksport reaches 2.2m listeners regularly. What % of these drop off in the evenings i don't know. Does anybody have the figures for above? I tried RAJR but they dont give a breakdown for listeners per show. |

Nigel has promised over 500 now, so I would imagine there will be a big focus on making that happen.
