Default Unflattering picture of Mr. Farage used by Conservative Home

A not very flattering picture of Mr. Nigel Farage complete with hat and umbrella has just been used again by Conservative Home - in the section dated 8.10.2006 (please scroll down - it's on the right):

http://conservativehome.blogs.com

The question is – are they deliberately using a less than flattering picture of Nigel with hat and umbrella (when there are many far better photographs of him available) to try to poke fun at him? I have criticised his hat before in this forum. I’ve got nothing against hats. But, put it this way, do the leaders of the ‘main’ parties in the House of Commons – Blair/Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Sir Menzies Campbell, Alex Salmond, Dr. Paisley - go around wearing hats?

Still they seem to be happy to put Nigel in a prominent position - the picture's none too great but discontent with Dave on the EU is all over their forum.

So I've noticed  8)

The editor of Conservative Home is Tim Montgomerie, former assistant to the anti-euro former leader of the Conservative Party, Iain Duncan-Smith MP.

Mr. Montgomerie said on the BBC 1 Television Politics Show that he had been asked by someone up at the top of the Conservative Party to 'tone down' what he published on Conservative Home. The site does contain alot of criticism of the party - someone (a Labour supporter) is setting up LabourHome to do exactly the same for the Labour Party.

Yesterday on the Politics Show, eurosceptic Mr. Montgomerie said, perhaps in jest, that his attitude was "publish and be damned".

There are, unfortunately, a group of people who keep posting europhile messages to Conservative Home. Most of these people, in my view, are bogus Tories - one wonders exactly who organised them to post - day in/day out - a constant stream of europhile dirge  :x to counteract the eurosceptic majority in the Conservative Party.

The only other politician who sports a silly hat is that other eu focussed person, ken clarke. Maybe Nigel is trying to balance him out.

Would need to be a heavier hat
