Surely we can be both a fully-fledged party but also be prepared to form pragmatic pacts with others in some circumstances.

I would like to echo that sentiment. If NF does not make a decent fist of being leader [and there is some doubt that he wanted the job in the first place] I am sure he will resign quite quickly - he is not the type to grind things out. If he does well - excellent. If he does not - we do not want UKIP to implode so that the next leader has to waste their time just getting us back to where we are now.

Not standing against BOO candidates is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard, If i was a Tory MP in marginal seat i would sign up to it tomorrow so ukip wouldn't stand against me, it is meaningless people are not accountable to it and worst of all its against what the membership voted for in 2004.
