They are gratified that UKIP under Nigel F will not stand against their BOO
candidates and thus take the heat off them at an election .I entirely agree with NF`s stance on this ,it is stupid to stab fellow travellors in the back be they Lib Lab or Con .
So i take it if any of the Lib/Lab/Con agree with our education policy we wont stand against them either.

All this does is re-affirm our reputation of being a protest party

Surely we can be both a fully-fledged party but also be prepared to form pragmatic pacts with others in some circumstances.

You bet they are delighted, Petrina. They know UKIP will never pose a serious threat while controlled by Nigel.

Sadly in this case past (and current) performance probably is a good guide to future behaviour. I hope I am wrong, but am not holding my breath  .

....I'm pleased you're still with us Petrina, after all the slagging off you've had to put up with from certain parties, and being Richards nominated deputy I feared, when I saw your name under this posting, that you were going to fall on your sword as well.

I'm glad to note that you aren't that principled and intend to continue the fight from within.
I would like to echo that sentiment. If NF does not make a decent fist of being leader [and there is some doubt that he wanted the job in the first place] I am sure he will resign quite quickly - he is not the type to grind things out. If he does well - excellent. If he does not - we do not want UKIP to implode so that the next leader has to waste their time just getting us back to where we are now.

No we cant if we are a full political party we should stand where we can.Would you like to tell hard working activists in your area nobody can stand.

Not standing against BOO candidates is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard, If i was a Tory MP in marginal seat i would sign up to it tomorrow so ukip wouldn't stand against me, it is meaningless people are not accountable to it and worst of all its against what the membership voted for in 2004.

On another thread it was suggested that this was the price if we wanted Paul Sykes money - too expensive I would say.

It will be interesting to see if Paul Sykes comes back on board.

Default Paul Sykes

Nigel said at the London leadership hustings that Paul Sykes pledged support to UKIP for the next Euro elections.

How convenient for Nigel and his fellow MEPs. He can keep his lucrative, but useless job in the puppet parliament.

In relation to not standing against BOO candidates:

What then would Paul Sykes be aiming to achieve if he put funds into UKIP on this basis?
