Default The amazing Mrs Pritchard

Jayne Horrocks (Bubbles from Ab Fab) Is starring in a new TV series on BBC this Tuesday.
I understand it is about a Lady who works in a Supermarket and Decides to get involved in forming a brand new party The parties colour is purple.

Will UKIP benefit in any way from this.

No, it's nothing to do with euroscepticism, and Veritas are purple, too...

I'm sure I had the TV on during one of the adverts for this program and heard a character from the program saying "Lies, lies, spin and more lies" similar to that of Mr.Kilroy-Silk during the Veritas launch.

Default Party colours and the biased BBC

In my view, the biased and pro-EU BBC should have sought the permission to use the colour purple from parties using the colour - particularly the one party that does have substantial representation across the UK (in all but one of the English EU constituencies) - UKIP.

Had they used green as the colour for this fictitious party people would obviously link the party to the Green Party. Less people know that purple is the colour of UKIP because the name of the colour (unlike with the Green Party) is not in the title.

The BBC, to avoid any accusations of bias, should have used white (I don't think any party with seats in the Commons or EU uses white) for their fictitious political party - or used rosettes which were made up with more than one colour (like those used by many football clubs).

At least purple is as change from the BBC's favourite - Labour red. Red appears prominently in BBC 'idents' (the video scenes before each programme on BBC 1) and red makes up the background in BBC news bulletins. The aim of the BBC is to put out a subliminal pro-Labour message by the use of red (particularly on BBC 1 Television and BBC News 24 Television).

I seriously doubt that is the case Brittanist. The colour red is not owned by Labour, nor exclusively used by them.

Anyhow, Labour seem to be slowly migrating to purple.
