Maybe has got the team in place and they are working away now, preparing a massive onslaught never seen before and it will all be initiated at conference to fire the party on.

I can't wait for more expensive publicity stunts! Lets see more tanks on lawns and billboard campaigns.
Of course ensuring each region has the infrastructure to function - with their own printing press - contesting every local council bye-election - holding regular days of action (ie a stall in the High Street with a petition and leaflets) - building up a solid foundation locally through local activism (in the way the LibDems used to). Demonstrations outside every regional assembly meeting etc etc.... Once you have built up a base of support and start increasing your vote - then people will start to sit up and take notice! |

Back to the same old argument. Do we base our strategy on the EU issue and nothing else? Do we not stand in seats which will be a waste of resources or seats where a candidate who supports our policy on the EU is standing? Will we follow the same route where an individual candidate supports our line on NHS reform? No. So our policy on the NHS is how important? Not at all. Therefore do we care about what the public cares about? No. Will we win a seat at the next General Election? No. But by then I might not be part of the we.

If Nigel spent a fraction of this on the equivilent time, energy & diplomacy in dealing with ordinary members who have a different methodology to his or the established cabal's,then there's just a chance that some of the 9,000 members that have left in there droves might still be in the party! Is there a chance this downward spiral is going to change? Quote:
The only hope of UKIP advancing now is from tory defectors,if your happy with that good for you,but dont think there going to make a permanent home in a temporary place! |

The discontented Tories had a chance to vote for Nigel in Bromley, with no adverse effects on the C.Party, but they chose to sit at home. I doubt that Tories will flock to the UKIP. They will only vote UKIP in the EU elections because they know the MEPs have no real power to change anything, and it is good to put pressure on the C.Party. Back to a pressure group!!!!
