Today, Cabalista 2nd class Clarke released a press release (almost noteworthy of itself) of which this part should worry lead-cabalista Knapman-
SNIP [I have been reliably informed this press release is a fabrication MKPD] |

Derek is just doing his job, and actually he does it rather well. So refreshing to find a politician who sticks to his principles, and works behind the scenes to acheive his stated aims, with no interest in courting publicity for the sake of it.
But you, you ill-informed ****, just want to criticise. If you can't say anything of interest, then please say nothing. Just go away. |

Actually, I was not having a go at Derek (but give it time), rather that his press release is - don't you think - rather wry, given the PCC announcement. Quote:
And yes, I am here to critiscise - or rather take the ****. UKIP is a joke, it will never be electable no matter who wins the election as the name has become a by-word for incompetent, single issue amateurism. |

Proves we are really upsetting the status quo. Mr. Sick-as-a-dog-hates-UKIP is here to take the P..s of UKIP is he? He must be really pi...d off with UKIP to go to the trouble. The question is: why bother? Because we are slowly becoming more effective perhaps? I just love to think of your kind when UKIP very slowly but surely gains credibility and electoral power - effectively worrying and harassing the other political parties as time goes by. I note the newspaper polls like "YouGov" are now showing "others" (that means UKIP) consistently at over 11%. (It used to be 2 or 3% for a long time). Two general elections ago UKIP was nowhere. One general election ago we gained no seats but affected the outcome of at least thirty seats. One European Election ago we won twelve seats and beat other parties into touch. Next general election .......... ? ? You won't be smiling too much then perhaps? Mr. BNP/Cons/LibDim/Lab chappie. Time then to shoot the "shoot the sick UKIP dog" ! Tee Hee. UKIP is in the ascendant .. you can't stop it. DED. |

Decent return in a by-election, namely 10% at Hartlepool, a Labour seat, traditionally weak territory for us. Beat the Tories to Third place. 2005: 0 seats at Gen Elec, best result in a delayed election at S. Staffs, again 10% but in a stronger area. 2006: Third Place at Bromley, where our Star MEP barely matched a UKIP precedent in Hartlepool. Strong Seat, Strong Candidate, weak performance. Becoming more effective? I think not. |

The truth is somewhere inbetween I think. 97-01-05 were all significantly better than before. Exactly the same with 94-99-04. Polls are showing way higher for others as Douglas Denny suggested though it is unclear to me what the UKIP share is. But local election & by-election results mostly look good for UKIP though there aren't enough willing active members to stand in many places where by-elections are being held. Alex, I hope you aren't knocking Douglas Denny just because it is so fashionable to do so here. I don't know him, have never seen him, heard him or even seen a photo of him but am clear from reading his contributions here that he is as dedicated to what I and every UKIP supporter here wants - UK out of EU. |

Furthermore, as of late there has been a decline in UKIP support, small but significant. I believe this is due to the very public arguments with RKS etc. Mr. Denny suggested that the 7% (sometimes 11%) listed for others in current polls is basically UKIPs predicted share. He is incorrect. The Nationalist Parties (Plaid Cymri, SNP, BNP) and the Northern Ireland parties (Ulster Unionists, DUP) are major parts of this grouping. Quote:
I believe Douglas is dedicated however I am unsure as to his suitability as Party Secretary whilst he is willing to indulge in very public rants against members, and broad-sweeping insults (see some of the threads in this forum). |

Full poll showed - Conservative 35% Labour 33% Lib Dem 17% BNP 8% Others 7% The Scottish and Welsh Nationalists usually muster around 3% between them. While the Greens average about 2% which means that UKIP will be on between 1-2% in the polls. |

I think the point the original poster was trying to make is that one of our MEPs is publicly attacking and taking the p*ss out of our Leader! Even our own MEPs are taking the micky out of the Leader of UKIP. What a sorry state of affairs! |
