The Conference Committee will meet on site at Telford next Friday (8th September) to put together a final draft of the programme for the Party’s national conference, to be held at the Telford International Conference Centre on 7th and 8th October. The programme will be subject to the approval of the NEC meeting on 18th September.

The NEC’s October meeting will be held on the afternoon of 6th October. That evening, the eve of the conference, will see the final of the Alan Bown 'Opportunity Knocks' public speaking competition. Entry to this is free to Party members who have already arrived at Telford. This will be held in the Reynolds Suite of the adjacent Holiday Inn.

While members attending the conference take their seats on the Saturday morning they will be entertained by the Jackfield Elcock Reisen Band, well-known in Shropshire, and whose cost has been met by a number of donors. The band will also be playing in the foyer during Saturday lunchtime. Members will be welcomed to the Telford area by the Deputy Mayor of Telford.

Speakers who have already accepted invitations to speak at the conference include the anti-EU author Vernon Coleman, and the president of the Freedom Association, former Conservative MP Christopher Gill (now a UKIP member). The guest speaker at the gala dinner on the Saturday evening will be Robin Page.
I hate the way they keep using the term, former Conservative.

Someone ask Vernon Coleman why he has gone from being a UKIP negative to addressing it's conference too.
