Independent UKIP has some supporters
Default UKIP Publicity/Press Office question

I would defy any UKIP supporter to suggest that the recent activity by the UKIP Press Office/s and the UKIP MEPs via the UKIP Press Office/s has not been the best for literally several years. How has this come about?
Is it purely because there is a leadership election going on or could it be that somebody has been on holiday and somebody else has been running the show? Or did the person who was on holiday come back and has been directing the activity? Or is there some other explanation?

All I know for certain is that this kind of press activity is what I have always wanted to see by UKIP and long might it continue.

There is a new professionalism which must be applauded. Who should be congratulated?

...and you wouldn't have even if you had written to him !

I agree that in recent weeks there has been a significant and noticeable change for the better in UKIP PR activity. Whosoever is responsible - well done.

Also Gawain has been posting on this forum UKIP letters appearing in the Western Morning News, South West regional morning daily press. Why not extend this to include UKIP letters published in the press in other regions? Would help with info and circulate ideas.

Regular reference is made to the Western Morning News, deservedly so, but the Western Daily Press is the other major SW regional morning daily in the SW giving good political coverage and UKIP letters and never gets a mention. Gawain please note.

Default Couple of points

Firstly I would like to make clear that the Press Office is a team, I have been lucky, but the luck has been driven by hard work from the MEPs and all four members of the central team, with the support of the regional press officers. Maybe there is an improvement, but it doesn't happen overnight and results often arrive with a significant time lag.
Thus the press officer training regime instituted by Clive Page and his tireless work on broadcast, the addition of Annabelle Fuller to complement Mark Croucher in the print media and my own stuff over here in Brussels is all starting to come together. Of course during the party conference season it might be a bit dificult but after that we shall see.

On the other matter, the resaon that the SW gets more hits here than other regions is tha we can find their stuff online. If anybody spots anything else in other outlets around the counry let us know. If necessary transcribe into an email and send it to me, or the regional or London press offices. We will endeavour in those circumstances to circulate it, thus showing ourselves and the rest of the world that our scope and hits are broadening. If you do so then please always include the date and publication name in your message.
