If the membership has been on the rose to 18000 in March it fell even more drastically beforehand. And no one, not even the NEC or possibly the leader knows how many of our members took out three or five year membership and may have since 'left' the party in all but their financial contribution which was spent long ago anyway.

If a couple of thousand are bouncing in and out every month it maters even less if a few leave in order to get this party the leader to reverse the trend in the next four years.

It would enhance the credibility of the Party if every three months or so it issued a definitive figure for the paid-up membership on a particular date.

This has been one of the many things that UKIP tends to spin - when as a party we are surely trying to oppose that style of politics.

They don't want to portray a party in rapid decline, so they hide it as good as they can.

They are not put out to the public. If they aren't hidden, there sure isn't much of an effort to get them out.
