Default Mike Nattresses Newsletter

I have just received Mike Nattresses newsletter which the lead article is titled.
Quote:
LEADERSHIP ELECTION AND AN ILLEGAL LETTER

I hope that you have your official voting papers and have read the official words of the four candidates.
No electioneering from others is allowed so if you have had any other communication telling you how to vote please bin it as it breaks the rules.

If you read the information from the candidates you will see that the MEPs have put their names against either Nigel Farage or David Campbell Bannerman or are silently happy about either of these two.

Contrary to a recent circular you may have received the regional committee Secretary Derek Bennett has his name on the Campbell Bannerman papers and not as otherwise inferred.
John Knotts and Dennis Brooks did not vote on any leadership recommendation and Jill Seymour David Nixon, Niki Sinclaire and others including myself were not even consulted about any circular.

The leader and Deputy Leader (me) decided not to put our names against any candidate and I have only written these few words to ensure that you are not mislead. In short I certainly do not endorse the person named in that letter and it is a long time since I have felt so angry.

Please just make your own decision based on the facts

MIKE NATTRASS MEP FRICS
So on one hand he is saying judge the candidates for yourself and on the other he is saying I wouldn’t vote for the candidate in the letter which I think was Richard he also says the MEPs are happy with either Nigel or DCB. Blatant electioneering I think

Not true, I have passed this quote onto Geoffrey Kingscott...

Facts. Hmm... Despite what UKIP.ORG says on the Who's Who page, under the new constitution, there is NO position of Deputy Leader... NEC members on this list might like to point that out to him sometime, and arrage to have the website updated...

I'm not surprised he is confused, the party is a shambles.

It's more clear than ever before that a bloody great clear out at the top is required and someone new with half reasonable management cababilities put in as a matter of urgency, before the whole lot comes crashing down.

Mike Nattrass's letter broke the very rules he was writing about. :?
AS has been said we need Richard to win to clean up the mess and set UKIP off in a new direction.

Default Leave the sinking ship now

Matt Davies wrote: "I'm not surprised he is confused, the party is a shambles. It's more clear than ever before that a bloody great clear out at the top is required and someone new with half reasonable management cababilities put in as a matter of urgency, before the whole lot comes crashing down.

REPLY: And Matt Davies has more reason than most to make this pronouncement - because on these boards for almost two years, he has patiently, and on the whole accurately, discussed the decline of UKIP, hoping all the time for something better, but gradually realising bit by bit - as this latest pessimistic message clearly shows - that UKIP is a sinking ship, now incapable of rescue, whoever is elected next month to lead it.

UKIP boasted in the summer of 2004 that it had 'over 27,000 members' (I quote).

Now it admits to just 16,000, and some on these boards put the actual membership as low as 10 to 12,000. Even at 16,000, this represents a loss of 11,000-plus members over 2 years - a rate of loss of over 100 members every week.

It is a failing party.

The sooner eurosceptics break free from it, and form a new eurosceptic party with a less nationalistic-sounding name, and start advocating and campaigning for a wider range of policies including on immigration, crime and failing health and education services, and much else, the better.

The Lechlade group - or similar - should meet again.

But with only one purpose - to start something new and better than UKIP.

It will be a good move for your CV to have left UKIP now, before the remains of the sinking ship are smashed to smithereens on the rocks.

The fact that Mike Nattras has produced a coded letter which basically says do not vote for Richard is the perfect reason to vote for him.
My ballot paper has already been returned but this letter just proves to me that I was right to vote the way I did.
