Default Political parties rapped for late reporting of donations

http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/0100n...name_page.html

Quote:
The row came as the Electoral Commission criticised both parties, along with the Liberal Democrats, Greens and UK Independence Party (Ukip), for failing to declare more than £300,000 of donations.
Looks like our NEC were spot on in questioning the parties finances. Now we look just like the old parties.

Douglas Denny and the rest of the cabal have a lot to answer for.

The story continues on the next page:
Quote:
Labour, the Greens and Ukip also made disclosures which were at least six months overdue and there were still more to be declared, the Commission said.
Quote:
Another £309,639 was declared for 2005 which should have been registered with the Electoral Commission by the end of February at the latest.

The donations included £216,933 to Conservative Party associations, £9,500 to Labour, £27,543 to UKIP and £1,200 to the Greens.

They only came to light when they were spotted in parties' annual accounts.

The Electoral Commission said it had set parties a September 30 deadline for yet more declarations to come.

Its the strangest thing, but UKIP always had 100% compliance (including all 200 branches) when John de Roeck was Treasurer. Oh, but I forgot, he had to go because he wasn't a Chartered Accountant. Or was it because he always stood up to Nigel and demanded proper accountability from Ashford?
