Default A question to answer.

I would like to get the forum's comments on whether you think there is a cabal operating within the hierarchy of UKIP and as to whether the UKIP MEP's have in the main gone native?

In my opinion the answer to both is yes.

Yes I think there is an old boy network, making sure the party is tightly controlled and IMH stunted.

No I don't think most of of the MEUPs have "gone native", some maybe, but not to a massive degree. What I do believe is that our party has been warped by the power these MEPs hold.

Niall
Question (a) Without a doubt - backslapping to keep their positions/allowences/salaries etc
(b) IMO, some have - some have not.

"Gone native"?

Developing an understanding of, and engaging with, the EP does not mean they have "gone native". It means they are doing their jobs.

Don't criticise what you don't understand.

There is an 'department' within the EU civil service who's function it is to pour largess on MEPs.

From day one they provide limos too and from the airports/stations/functions; there are subsided meals at Michelin resturants; fine wines and a convenient circle of new friends.

The MEPs are compelled to submit fraudulent expenses claims, i.e. submit boarding cards for flights and receive a mileage allowance well in excess of cost for travel rather than the actual cost, (One MEP was, I believe, supsended for three months because he insisted on only claiming the actual cost).

It is all too easy for our MEPs, like all the others, to become beguiled by their new chums.

I think that by and large they are coping pretty well.

There are many ways in which the EU can be attacked, but repeating childish myths and semi-truths simply discredits us.

I think you'll find that this is neither myth or semi truth Ted.
