Default Welfare dependency

A long leader in The Business today puts the true unemployment figure at around 5m. It sets out the social effects, and the uneven distribution of welfare dependency around the country.

The paper concludes that neither of the main parties will tackle this.
Quote:
It would require radical welfare reform and a drastic combination of carrot and stick to get those on welfare back into work; it would also need tax cuts and deregulation to encourage companies to start hiring again. Such policies are on nobody’s agenda. Thus is Britain condemned to yet another lost generation of welfare dependents.
Would UKIP be up for this? Thought not. Could it appeal to the same group as a tight immigration policy?

Why don't you write to the new leader and suggest it and offer to help ?

No takers on this forum but will still pursue elsewhere.

What we need is some "Work-Fare" policies like in the USA.

1. Each unemployed person is assigned an 'advisor'
2. They must turn up every day to the centre for work and training
3. They must work/train for 30 hours per week
4. Each hour missed, their benefits get cut
5. Their advisor is on hand to assist them with job applications, cv writing etc.

The advantages are:

1. Incentive to get a job as it is not possible to be lazy and screw the system
2. No fraud - the advisor will know who doesn't turn up each day
3. They get trained which will help them re-skill and find new jobs

This will cost more than the Dole its self costs.

They are 8 million people of working age in the United Kingdom who are either not looking for, or not available for, work and are therefore classified as being economically inactive.

We spend more on Asylum Seekers each year than we give out in unemployment benefit.

We do not need any import from the USA. We used to handle welfare issues within the community quite fine until the State stepped in. And it did not cost anything like what the present system is, had little fraud and gave help where it was truly needed. For more of this go to:

Default Welfare Dependency

Because of the damage to the economy and society that the current welfare system is doing, I think that welfare reform is as urgent as leaving the EU. But there is a deafening silence from the established parties on the issue.

UKIP should be promoting itself as the party that will tackle the issues that the established parties won't, such as welfare dependency (and crime, and transport...).

IMO a simple and radical alternative to the current social security system is this:

Also,
An alternative education system could be this:

A potential reform to the NHS is this:
