Default MAKE A WILL

At Bromley I asked several of the UKIP big-wigs how I could help the UKIP effort.

After the usual suggestions of canvassing, leafleting, stuffing envelopes, donating money and standing in local elections in 2007 it was also suggested to me, in the nicest possible way that I might like to die and help UKIP from beyond the grave!

This wasn't a postal voter scam or any similar scheme. It was just a suggestion I might like to leave UKIP a bequest in my will.

I've done this today with the help of my solicitor. UKIP gets £10,000 when I die. This will be a capital sum to be held by the party and the interest only to be spent on local and Westminster elections in my constituency. Should UKIP fold or not have candidates for three consecutive elections in my constituency then the accrued interest and the full capital sum goes to Cancer Research.

So there is a way to help the party. Make a will, leave money to UKIP and then die!

That's a very good idea, not least the built-in protection of your money. Well done.

An added benefit is that any bequests to political parties or charities are exempt from IHT.

Thus if your estate falls into the IHT catagory then Gordon Brown, (or whoever), will effectively be chipping in 40%.

Its how the main parties gain a lot of their funding.

PS: I hear Charles Kennedy is thinking of standing again, shows what miracles modern medical science can do for the legless.

Well done Tamashi, now be UKIP's first suicide bomber in Brussels then your death will be a double bonus.

With the current age average of UKIP, perhaps UKIP could be in for some serious windfalls over the next decade.

Brown will be sniffing around to tax any winfall that doesn't benefit him.
