Default Flying Start to Leadership Voting

Quote:
After only three days of postal deliveries the number of members returning envelopes containing ballot papers in the leadership election has reached 3,833, which is already a larger response than for the NEC elections. With voting continuing until September 7, record numbers of votes are expected. This leadership election comes at a vital stage in UKIP's history, and all members are encouraged to record their vote for one of the four candidates.

Geoffrey Kingscott
Acting Returning Officer
Head Office

Most people will surely send the thing off within a day or two of it arriving to avoid losing it round the house - so 3000 is not much out of our vast membership.

"I wonder if the first 1000 will all be for the same candidate."

Is that the size of UKIP Wales or the Lechlade Group?

It could be a very good sign, the reformers getting their positive votes in early. I did and I know many who did likewise supporting RS.
