"I don't recall those words as mine" sorry John if I misquoted you,and of course I' ll withdraw the 'pig in a poke' statement, as whoever used it (and against whoever) it is an unwise choice of words.
If, despite myself not voting for Richard he were to win the leadership of the party I would be as much affected as any who did vote for him.As such I believe I have every right to know more about him in order that I should readily follow him in the future. The shroud of client cofidentiality cannot apply to each and every one of Richard's business experiences surely? Tell me John, if you ran a company that was in receipt of, and dependent upon a guarantee from another company that subsequently went into receivership and had it's shares suspended ,at what point would you cease to treat that guarantee as having value? |

"I do know that I would never judge someone's political leadership on such a recherché criterion."
There is absolutely no evidence upon which to judge Richard's political judgement save perhaps his choice of Deputy, should he be successful. That is why I am concentrating on financial criterion. "Do you have concerns about any other candidates as leader?" Of course but nowhere near as great. |

If he does, you'll probably get plenty of indication in pretty short order whether you are comfortable with his political judgment or not - as you will whoever the new leader is. So I think you can relax. |

"Well since the answer's not going to influence your vote, let's see if Richard wins first"
No,because it is clearly influencing other members.Meeting UKIP members from the Midlands two weeks ago at a non UKIP event and discussing the leadership election they said they were voting for Richard because "he turns companies around".I just wish to get evidence to support that trust in the public domain. DCB,NF or DN have not sold themselves on the same criteria as Richard. |

All the candidates have made statements about their past achievements but it is only Richard's that you are keen to validate?
How frightfully public spirited and even-handed of you. Maybe you would care to enquire where some 85% of the Ashford money went under the previous Treasurer and while Nigel was on the NEC and so presumably they both knew the answer? Or on that are you content to await the UKIP accounts which won't have that information in them and which have been delayed because the previous Treasurer didn't even see the audit through before he suddenly resigned. Ashford concerns me much more but we the electors have been denied that information. |

Been here before with Michael on another Thread. Like me, and many others, he is having to wait until the Business Committee meeting at 5.30pm on Sunday 8th when this Committee meets after 2 days of Conference. Geoffrey K. had hoped that this meeting would have taken place before the Conference. It is too be hoped that many members will be able to attend. |

"the previous Treasurer didn't even see the audit through before he suddenly resigned"
He did not resign,he did not seek re-election,and I do not blame him. Again you try to direct attention away from Richard and back to UKIP accounts and party activities from a time when Richard was still an ambitious aspiring wannabee Tory candidate. If you are so concerned about UKIP accounts then you ask about them.I am asking about Richard All I ask is for one succesful company turn around by Richard to be in the public domain. There must be one since he left LLoydsTSB in 1993 that can be made public. His failure to achieve break even, let alone profit, and the continuing liquidation of FCI (UK) Ltd is in the public domain ,so why not his successes? If as you wish he is succesful in this contest then others will look more closely than I .Let him boast ,I won't mind. |
