Clippo, of course published policy documents change over time, but not within months or weeks!

It wasn't brought out as a discussion document or a statement of principles, it was brought out as UKIP's education policy.

It's already looking dated (e.g. the discussions about science you've referenced, and the new diplomas with employers involved which are about to be launched), but I don't think the new leader will want to change it, because Nigel isn't much interested in policies.

We need a policy document like this is every major area of policy.

However, these need to be kept up to date, tweaked and improved under the chairmanship of an appointed official spokesperson for that area.

Minor amendments should be approved by the leader and/or NEC on a regular basis (at least annually).

It should be a statement of principles.

We need more than that.

At any point in time we need to be able to answer the major obvious questions reasonably firmly or people will take no interest.

With so many over-educated Poles - "30Minutes" last night taking up the slack in jobs that Brit's turn their noses up at, I would have thought we could possibly learn a few things from the Polish model - they leave school with a real grounding in so many things, and are motivated, something sadly lacking over here.

Yes lets follow the Polish Model - leave school with a bucket full of qualifications and end up in the UK cleaning toilets or flipping big macs in McD's!!!

The Poles with the qualifications may be flipping burgers now, but in 5 years time they will own the restaurants!
