Nothing major, just little things such as word usage.

Thanks, Matt, that must have taken ages. Anyone criticising should remember you were working from a tape!

I still can't make N's arithmetic here add up.

Re MPKD's snide comment about not many being at hustings other than London/Exeter it was a full hall at Cannock and it was a good meeting. This is a typical Southern's comment .

I was at Cannock and London. I'd say the attendances were pretty similar.

(NF) - mistake is that people who stand for election to the NEC should decide all this, as no business is run by a group of people who meet once a month.
Hmm, a moot point I think. IMHO most successful businesses are RUN at the strategy level by a group who meet at intervals, possibly monthly, possibly more often. The daily, weekly, detail is DONE by the workers - in our case the activists, Branches, any sub committes formed etc.

How on earth does he think businesses are run?

Monthly Board meetings plus quarterly, with the parent company, if a subsidiary. That was my experience with Hanson, McKechnie and other national and multi nationals.

No bloody wonder we're in a mess if he cannot understand how managers manage and managers delegate.

Then there's Communication; which at the Exeter hustings NF said there were problems with the Press Office but 'we are getting there.' How many years? An accountable business would have dealt with the communication problem a long time since.

On the Accounts; 'people querying the accounts to cause trouble.' How many times over the years has that been levied? Golf clubs, Social Clubs, Companies etc etc. If I hadn't had concerns before, and I had that is why I stood for the NEC, I certainly would have after hearing NF say that last Sunday in Exeter.

You shouldn't be prejudiced against southerners, especially as I am a born and bread midlander.

When you think that the party has 17-18k members, I think it is safe to say that the turn out to ALL hustings is poor, including London, though maybe not so bad for Exeter.

If you think a grand total of less than 500 total members turning up throughout all the hustings is good, then I envy your abilty to see things in a positve light. Must be your superior Northern genes.
