Channel 4 did quite an interesting programme a couple of years ago with modern 16 year olds put in a 1950's grammar school context - some very UKIP type perspectives on education got an airing.

Can't see why this thing has to be viewed as sinister.

Knowing C4, I am sure they wil bracket candidates into 'appropriate' political pursuasions, especially when it comes to house teams. In other words, yet another media attempt to link UKIP with the 'others' (no, not that film with Nicole Kidman).

Also, be cautious with respect to the timing of the broadcast of any films produced.

From the posts on this forum and general behaviour since the Leadership was announced I wouldn't have thought that there was any shortage of teenagers available and teenagers on a bad hair day at that.

To ask any 16 year olds to behave appropriately and be "on message" 24/7 is impossible. It'd be all too easy for a programme like this to be edited and show them at their worst moments.

Some very bright 16 year olds in our party may respond to this request (not that I know of any personally) and, indeed, they may have a great deal to offer the party, BUT with the camera on them day and night all it'd take is a short period of stupidity for it to fall apart.

Think about it, 5 minutes of madness/ lost temper/ inappropriate behaviour could be broadcast on prime time television and do all sorts of damage to our party.

If anyone believes this idea will do our party any good at all is naive in the extreme. Reality TV thrives on confrontation, that's a fact, and creating confrontational situations is exactly what the makers of this programme will be trying to do.

This request belongs in the bin.

If there ARE any 16 year olds reading this who want to do something positive for UKIP you need to firstly back RICHARD SUCHORZEWSKI to become leader. He's made a firm commitment to setting up a Youth movement, and, believe me, if he becomes leader it WILL happen.

Nigel lied to me personally on two separate occasions regarding the Youth movement. It'll NEVER happen if he becomes leader, indeed, if he DOES become leader the party as a whole will be finished.

Don't forget what they made our MEP's look like, with significantly less material to work with in the Kilroy behind the tan programme.

It's high risk, but could there be some major upside?

What is the best case scenario, if we have a kid that actually does an awesome job?

I tend to think that we would be doing ourselves and UKIP a really bad turn if we participated in this one, sort of,putting the political noose around our own neck, thus, saving our opponents a job.

Remember, the camera CAN lie,and,Presenters/film crews CAN post their own point of view regardless of any controls they may operate under.

I think the very fact they have asked UKIP to participate is a huge bonus for us and a recognition that we cannot be ignored in UK Politics.

Not putting up a participant would be a great mistake, but, lets be honest, who is going to watch it? It will be like public meetings during campaigns, only political activists every go and they are there to cheer their candidate and sneer at the others, there is very, very rarely anyone at a meeting who is actually there to listen, learn and consider before making up their minds. This program will be the same!

So what is the upside.

Best case, no one watches it.

Worst case, we get a little Nazi pretending to be UKIP, that will be used against us for eternity.

Is it me, or does that not look like a good deal?

They won't be interested in a 'UKIP teenager' unless he's a 'fruitcake', preferably with acne.

Cue funny hat, ridiculous camera angles, Laurel and Hardy style (or Hammer Horror) music and bingo !!!
