Yes, Nigel Farage today failed to turn up for the third hustings in a row....
Does Nigel actually want to be leader? Is he going to turn up to any of the hustings from now on? |

Amazing.
Either he is so confident his fans will select him no matter what, or he wants a friend to win instead.

I think you have struck the nail on the head with" He is so confident his fans will select him" As you have pointed out before only about 0.01% of UKIP membership use this forum, most of whom I believe would not vote for NF. This leaves 99.99% whose possibly only contact with UKIP is the Independence newsletter (pro NF)and occasionally seeing NF on TV, where of course he comes over exceptionally well! Plus the fact, I believe the hustings are not particully well attended, Chelmsford - aprox 30 people. I would say, unfortunately, the odds are very heavily stacked against the other contenders. NF knows this & believes he can still become leader without needing to attend the hustings. I hope He's got it wrong. If he does win without needind the hustings, it proves how intertwined UKIP & NF are seen by the majority of the membership, & could take years to untwine, which IMO could be disasterous for the party! |
