Default Israel & Lebanon

Do not visit the above site if you are of a sensative and squemish nature and want to be shielded from the realities of war!

So do UKIP have any view on Israeli/Lebanon? Should we be vocal about it?

This is so tough. I am split on the issue myself.

UKIP shouldn't get to involved in other countries affairs. UKIP doesn't even comment on Britains affairs properly at the moment, so I would expect nothing on this at the moment.

When a new leader is in place, I still don't know what they should say, other than call for more restraint from all sides.

I haven't heard much from the old parties on this, other than Bliars lot taking sides as usual with the USA.

The question should come down to how the world should police trouble like this. That's a policy that has to be thrashed out in detail first, which just hasn't been done yet.

Ghastly pictures .

The West know only too well that it will get worse before it gets better ( if it ever does ) that`s why we have got our citizens out of there. We know that the Israeli Govt backed by the Yanks are going to bomb the Lebanon to destruction.

Luckily UKIP is not bank-rolled by Arab or Jewish or American money so we can be as objective as possible .
The other parties aren`t able to do this ,their Treasurers wont let them .

Isreal have evey right to defend themselves against a terrorist organisation that has pledged to wipe them out. Nobody wants this war
but if we were under attack in the same way Isreal are then I would hope we would fight back. If Isreal sit back and let Hezbollah exterminate them (and Hezbollah have clearly stated that this is their aim) is this really what the western world wants?

Unfortunately, the acceptance of terrorism against the English people by our own government (IRA), has led to a more tolerent attitude towards terrorists throughout the world. hence the ridiculous slogan 'One mans terrorist is another mans Freedom Fighter'. These are just emotive words for killers to hide behind, but has led to a new generation of Che Guevara T Shirt wearers who are incapable of independent thought.

I don't want anyone to fight for my freedom if this includes indiscriminantly blowing themselves up on tubes, planting bombs in litter bins on High Streets where the only likely victims are civilians, or promising to wipe out nations that are not like our own.

Should Hezbollah attack the UK, I suspect UK citizens would be told to be more inclusive, accept Sharia Law (non acceptance would be racist) and no doubt a tax would be levied for the Hezbollah Fighting Fund.

It is time the West stood up for its own values instead of pandering to medieval gangsters and UKIPs only policy need be to say that we will defend this country from all those who wish to destroy it and its values......................like Isreal are doing.

Apologies. I've just noticed my terrible mistake, the result of typing too fast and transposing letters. Isreal shoudl of course read Israel.

I think UKIP should avoid getting involved like avoiding the plague! It is a no win situation! Leave the "Jack of all Trades master of Non" mantle to the Lib Dems!

Best round-up I have seen on the situation.

Yes, that about says it all. Except that I feel just as sorry for the Israelis killed by Hezbollah missiles. Funny isn't it, how it always seems to be self-righteous politicians, generals and gunmen who do all the talking and the innocent adults and children of all nationalities who do most of the dying? It makes me sick.

UKIP should make a statement, not in support of the Israelis or of Hezbollah, but of the ordinary people caught up in this nightmare. This can only be settled by diplomacy, and that requires a much greater sense of urgency on the part of our useless government and the Americans' equally useless government. Let's add our little bit of pressure to the UK government to stop the slaughter now.
