UKpatriot,
I have to congratulate you on your breathtakingly illogical interpretations & responses to my posts. you wrote:- Quote:
One aspect of the art of politics & political debate is, imo, recognising that neither side in a debate has complete intellectual superiority in its' arguments - or in simple language for you 'there are two sides to every story'. In my previous posts in this debate I have repeatedly stated I'm broadly neutral but for this latest flare-up in the almost permanent war between Israel & the Arabs, I've stated quite clearly that I lean to the Israeli side. I repeat, in previous situations I have leaned to towards the Arab / Palestinian side. Yet never in this debate in your previous posts have you given any consideration to the other person's viewpoint. That seriously demeans the impression that you give of your impartiality. Because of this bias that you show, none of the points you have raised in the recent posts are at all 'sharp' to me - on the contrary, they are tediously as blunt as possible. - they cut no ice with me. Have the last word on this if you wish - it'll only propably expose your continuing hyppocracy. |

KH, I'll look at Mr North's blog (as I have done before), but please stop patronising us with the "unbiased" comments of the Israelis.
aish.com (not to be confused with Arab owned aisha.com) might be a tad biased in this conflict. Ownership details are as follows: Registrant: Yeshivat Aish HaTorah Box 14149 Jewish Quarter Jerusalem 91141 Israel Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. (http://www.godaddy.com) Domain Name: AISH.COM Created on: 17-Aug-97 Expires on: 16-Aug-08 Last Updated on: 03-Nov-03 Administrative Contact: HaTorah, Aish ssilinsky-web@AISH.COM Box 14149 Jewish Quarter Jerusalem 91141 Israel 972-2-628-5666 Fax -- Technical Contact: HaTorah, Aish ssilinsky-web@AISH.COM Box 14149 Jewish Quarter Jerusalem 91141 Israel 972-2-628-5666 Fax -- Domain servers in listed order: NS1.DATARETURN.COM NS2.DATARETURN.COM Now don't call me picky, but surely a yeshiva in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem is going to be a tad biased. As you will know, KH, if you've been to the Old City, the Jewish Quarter was badly damaged at partition. On reunification the buildings were either restored or new ones were built. The area of Mameluke architecture around the Wailing Wall, which in any other civilised society would have listed status, was swept away to make way for a car park and cleared area for the faithful to assemble in. A hole was made in the walls of the Old City to allow coaches in. A lot of the rebuilding in the Jewish Quarter was of buildings that, instead of being the craft workshops and homes that existed before partition, were intended to be used as yeshivah. The Jewish quarter is now full of settlers and ultra-Orthodox religious students and bears little resemblance to a traditional Jewish Quarter; Mea Sharim in West Jerusalem is a more interesting place from that point of view. The Jewish Quarter is the home of real Zealots. No Arabs dare walk that part of the Old City and indeed for them to gain access to the area around the Wailing Wall, underneath the al-Aqsa Mosque, is not easy with the immense security presence. Frankly anything produced by Yeshivah Aish HaTorah is suspect. The clue is in the name. "Aish HaTorah is an apolitical, international network of Jewish educational centers, providing opportunities for Jews of all backgrounds to discover the wisdom and beauty of their heritage in an atmosphere of open inquiry and mutual respect." The modern yeshivah buildings in the square near the Wailing Wall are pretty naff architecturally don't you think? They are hardly in keeping with a sacred site, but you can say that about the Jerusalem Mall which is the world's least attractive modern shopping mall (and the kosher pizzas in the food hall are rubbish!). |
