Can`t wait forever to get a reply .My point is simple .

The Metric Martyrs Fund received £2500 from the main UKIP appeal .It also appears to have a few smaller sums from UKIP branches and I believe some very generous donations from individual UKIP members .
Nigel and Jeffrey informed the press and members that they had donated their ENTIRE excess travel expenses the Metric Martyrs Defence Fund .
A tidy sum of £11500.A sum that they were predicably told to pay back by the EU .

Clearly the UKIP donation did not include it ,nor did the smaller branch sums ,nor did Messrs Farage or Titford donate this sumto the fund .

The alternatives are these ;the whole operation was a scam ,the cheques were sent but never arrived at their proper destination (but were presumably encashed by an unauthorised person ?), the cheques were given to a third party for postage and were embezzled ,the MMFund received and presumably cashed the cheques but never declared them . It has got to be one of these alternatives .

I would have thought that the MEPs involved in this would feel obliged to cast some light on the circumstances ,especially as one of them was the Leader and the other hopes to be the Leader of UKIP.Their reputation is on the line .

Unfortunately, some of us have elections to fight.

My point is that it had already been explained specifically to you that UKIP had its own fund for victims of EU legislation, and it was this fund into which the £11,500 was paid and subsequently paid out directly to butchers, greengrocers and others. This defence fund was not the same as the Metric Martyrs fund, although UKIP did also donate to that.

I realise that the real explanation doesn't help you make the MEPs look dishonest though, so I can see why you ignored it when posting your little outburst.

I am sure that both Nigel and Jeffrey will accept your apology for the accusation that they somehow scammed £11,000 odd.

Presumably all monies paid out by UKIP are fully documented and itemised in the suitably annotated audited accounts.

If we adopt your suggestion from another thread and have as Treasurer someone who isn't remotely qualified, other than knowing the price of a loaf ,then who knows what will be documented.

If you think that a set of accounts will fully document and ITEMISE ALL expenditure with suitably annotated accounts then you are not best placed to judge that we have an unqualified Treasurer.

Why is it suddenly crystal clear, after all this obfuscation by you Mark, that the MEPs had set up a fund and that fund paid out ot a number of different bodies who were affected by the EU?

In your first posting you said that you believed that the £11000 had gone to the Metric Martyrs .At no time have you mentioned any other possible recipients ,indeed you have thrown into question whether the fund existed at all -"the intention was to set up a fund ...however this was expressly ruled out by the EU."

Sorry I don`t accept what you say without seeing chapter and verse.

So presumably you don't accept what you were saying yourself either?

That's a pretty strange state of affairs. Why not work out what you're trying to say and whether you believe yourself, and then ask something that makes sense in English?

Of course I am well aware that UKIP had a Metric Martyrs Fund ,that fund contributed £2500 to the Steve Thorburn MM Fund .We all know about that one .

Are you now saying that the £11000/£11500 went into that UKIP MM fund and was paid out ot a number of different groups inspite of the fact it was specifically named Metric Martyrs or are you now saying that the "other fund "which was to help victims of the EU held the £11000/£11500 ?

We are dealing with three separate funds of money here .

The impression given to the press and members was that all the £11500 odd had gone to the Steve Thorburn MM Fund, clearly it was not sent via our UKIP MM Fund so if it went to the Steve Thorburn Mm Fund how was it sent .

I have to say that your use of English leaves a great deal to be desired on occasions ,perhaps you would like to make yourself clear on this relatively straightforward question .

Could it be that the lack of straight answers to straight questions is a straight answer in itself :?: :?

I think that you`re right .

It`s clear that no one is going to answer these inquiries properly so we are left to draw our own conclusions .
