Any reports from this meeting?
It has been reported to me that John Moran (Nigel's aide) got booed and told to be quiet by the hustings chairman after he tried to attack Richard. The crowd apparently turned on Moran for the attack and he left the meeting. Can anyone confirm or deny that please? |

They should have let him have his say.
I guess people don't like being taken for granted.

Those who went who have contacted me inform me that the night went to Richard Ski .Even a previously stalwart supporter of NF`s informed one of Ski`s supporters that he was going to suggest to Nigel that he should stand down in favour of Richard and just stick to being leader in the I&D Group.
Sorry can`t tell you the name as to do so would breach a confidence but it was not John Moran ! Incidentally I keep hearing on "the grapevine" that John M is likely to be elevated the post of National Chairman if NF wins .No wonder DCB is standing . |

I was not present at Winchester but from what I’ve been told a Steve Harris, a ( colleague/employee, I know not) stood in for NF and gave a good presentation of his case.
DCB presented his case well, while David Noakes attacked NF about his drunkenness, whoring, destroying any rising stars etc etc John Moran was present, he ended having all but an argument with the Chairman from which RS had to bale him out by being willing to take his question. Moran’s question designed to embarrass Richard was I understand ‘How if he ever became leader would Suchorzewski control Greg Lance-Watkins and how would he prove he was not controlled by him’ Richard I understand, pointed out that yes GLW supported his campaign for leadership, he also pointed out that in the past he had supported Roger Knapman and Geoffrey Titford.. Richard also pointed out that Greg lance-Watkins had spoken with Moran’s boss Nigel Farage over a number of years and supported him also. On the point of control Richard pointed out even as leader, it was not possible or desirable to control members and he surely could not control non members like GLW. It would be his job to lead, not control! Moran left the meeting. |

It sounds to me like Nigel's camp is starting to panic, if they are having to resort to orchestrated barracking.
I say orchestrated because John Moran is an ardent Nigel supporter, so his question wasn't intended to acquire information, it was an attempt to embarrass that backfired. There was no reported barracking of DCB, so Nigel clearly doesn't see him as a threat. More evidence to back up the two-horse race argument. Steve Harris is Nigel's Regional Organiser, and therefore an employee. |
