He seems to intend to write a five year plan for UKIP with minimal input from anyone else. In a political genius this might just be acceptable.
DCB shows that he is full of good ideas and the idea that he would require minimal input I believe to be untrue. He is consultative and wants to discuss and debate with others, but not from a blank page.

If you read his answers to Chad at UKIP Home, you'll find for example that he has taken onboard someone else's idea of No Preference, No Prejudice. That shows he listens and evaluates others ideas. He doesn't agree with all Chad's slants in his answers either.

I've emailed him to discuss some communication ideas about UKIP, to help us go forward, and I say he does listen to other people.

You could try it yourself, email him with a question or an idea.

Furthermore, Richard was emailed with 10 questions from UKIP Home, but he won't answer them. He only seems interested in answering quesions from his own supporters.

When people here accused DCB of several things, I asked him by email if he would answer them for this forum, and he did! Isn't that good communication?

Yep, but I'll judge him on his past performance, rather than his leadership pitch thanks.

It's a bummer when you have a track record to be judged on.

Well if David has done badly in your opinion, in jut 7 months, then what is your opinion of Petrina's Chairmanship? I noted that you've refused to comment in rply to Chad. How long was she Chairman?

I see your critcisms of the Chairman to refect badly on the Chairmen before him as they should have rectified things and didn't. They had more time (except for the interim one)

It's a fair quesion. I like Petrina. I do not believe it reasonable to criticise the Chairman so much because they are more limited in what they can do, than the leader.

The buck stops with the leader of the Party.

I haven't refused anyones question. I wouldn't have voted Petrina either, as I have made clear. What that's got to do with the price of fish, I don't know.

And yes I do blame Knapman for making DCB chairman. The buck really does stop with him.

You were asked how long Petrina was Chairman, and didn't answer, twice I think.

I think you would be against anyone Knapman appointed simply because Knapman appointed him or her.

I didn't see him asking me how long Petrina had been Chairman. I wouldn't have know the answer if he did. I still don't know what that has got to do with the price of fish.

It is true, him being great mates with the old guard doesn't warm me to him, but that would have been swept aside if I had seen some results from him during his time as chairman. As I saw sod all, indeed a further shift towards being a Tory pressure group and rubbish results in general, that's the reason I could never consider keeping the old guard in place.

It's time for change, not the same old stale failed efforts.

It's because you are complaining about what DCB has doen in just 7 months, and that begs the question: "What were the other Chairmen doing?"

It is clear that DCB took up an office in a party with serious problems.

Petrina is a Ski supporter, if you want the mess sorted out (by the Chairman) why didn't Petrina do it?

My answer is that the Chairman does not have enough power to do that and maybe the leadership have been hampering. I think that is reasonable.

DCB did not take over a well run Party. What is certain, is that on his website, he diagnoses what the problems are and suggests solutions.

One thing he wants to do is have an Internet forum, an official one, so members can ask questions and get replies from the leaders and others. One of the complaints on this forum is the lack of input from Leadership and that is one thing DCB will do, UKIP website wise.

If it had been in place a year ago, you and others would have been able to ask DCB why he was chosen on the forum, and these rumours may have been squashed.

I don't care about Petrina's perfomance. She is no longer there, so I can't vote for her if I wanted too.

Those of us with some history in the party gave him the benefit of the doubt. We were ready to praise every little effort he made. He had party blowers and baloons ready, as he addressed the fundemental basics, that even my mother would have addressed if put in that position.

We waited.

We waited some more.

Then a tumbleweed blew by.

Then we waited some more.

Then we found out he was just another old school, Tory pressure group, shout down the people with ideas kinda bloke.

Stuff that. I want someone else to have a go. Don't reward failure.
