FWIW it's not uncommon for 3rd party publications to misspell the party's name. A Google search for "UK Independent Party" reports "about 174" instances.

This is a DCB thread and I'm making these points.

1. DCB has chosen as chairman someone who can't get the party's name right on his own business card. He also seems not to know what PPC stands for - see the business card again.

So is this good judgement by DCB?

2. I have made other criticisms of DCB on the page I've recently quoted. No comments on those. Are we agreed on them, then?

You failed to do that. Del misspelled it on his own business card.

The relevance to DCB is that Del is DCB's choice as chairman. Richard isn't, so anything Richard has done or not done is irrelevant to this thread. But by all means cross-reference to another thread if you want to pursue that line there.

John was making a case for why he cannot vote for DCB, the name of this thread, and I was challenging that claim. Surely that couldn't be any more on topic if it tried?
Actually it's off topic. Del's card is only relevant to this thread because he is DCB's choice for chairman.

Should I assume you agree with the other points about DCB on my latest page I've quoted?

Default Why I cant vote

AS it now appears that both DCB and UKIP lied when they said that he was the great nephew of a former PM he will presumably be disqualified by the returning Officer.Or perhaps that will be the geat start-new UKIP lies when he says he is PMs great nephew

I spoke to the RO at lunchtime. I pointed out similaraties to Janet Girsman and her youthful picture, which got her disqualified from the NEC, after the election, with no redistribution of votes (which our then system called for - those were the days...)
Geoffrey takes the view that this (if an issue at all) is post nomination, so the nomination stands. He also doesn't believe people in UKIP are so stupid as to vote for someone puerly based on their name...

UKIP has a long and honourable tradition of typos - look at the NEC elections! When I was marching with tanks in Manchester, the leaflets had a duff web address on 'em. So it's unflair to blame Richard - everyone at the top of UKIP needs to improve their proofing skills methinks - and I'm personally terrible

I agree with that. There's plenty to put people off DCB.

All this nit picking pedantry is pathetic. If you are all so concerned about typos I suggest you look at "A Bolder Future for UKIP" and then cease.

Oh they most certainly do,in fact when the story broke in October this was seen as enough of a big deal to ban dual membership of Progcon to all UKIP members.

Indeed Chad described this incident as a "MAJOR ISSUE,as it shows that UKIP needs the EU more than any other party"

Perhaps Chad would like to copy the extensive blog article that he wrote on the subject at the time on his new website UKIPhome & how someone who described "the Tom Wise affair to be showing UKIP to be happily riding the very same gravy train they set to expose" can now be so supportive of keeping the same leading players in similar seats of power & controll of the party?

All in the name of being "Progressive" of course!

Oh yes,nearly forgot & "Principle's" too!
